Dear Activists,
We hope this newsletter finds you all well and healthy in your own corner of this world. We all know far too well our world will not be the same once we recover from this pandemic. We at NGO CSW/NY and as Conveners of Civil Society Advisory Group are invigorated by the postponement of the Generation Equality Forums, as we take this as an opportunity for us to emerge stronger than ever in our activism and demands.
Please read about all our ongoing activities during these uncertain times. We hope this will inspire you to help us reach even more women and girls globally with our shared aspirations. In the coming months you will hear more about how and what we are planning to do. As always, we look forward to hearing from you. Share with us how and what you are contributing to this movement–what local actions you are taking?

Beijing+25: Where are the Women and Youth Peacebuilders? On March 17, 2020, the civil society-led Beijing+25 WPS-YPS Action Coalition organized the online event “Beijing+25: Where are the Women and Youth Peacebuilders?”. In the lead-up to the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the 20th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325, and the 5th anniversary of UNSCR 2250, women and youth peacebuilders formed a coalition to discuss urgent, intersecting issues related to the full and effective implementation of the Women and Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth and Peace and Security (YPS) agendas. Ensuring
Adolescent Girls are at the Heart of Generation Equality The Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA) recognized that girls as a group faced distinct and often magnified barriers to the achievement of their rights, and therefore required specific attention and actions. Read more about the efforts being taken to ensure that Generation Equality meaningfully includes girls’ voices and actions for girls. |
